Anybody else has been enjoying the new Iron Chefs? I find it funny that they switched from 料理の鉄人 to アイアンチェッフ, no doubt under Western influence. Anyway, I'm happy about the switch to HD (though the originals might actually also be available in HD), and the continuing tradition of rigged juries. The new Chairman and the new Chefs don't quite have the same presence as the old ones. They also managed to, probably illegally, use Game of Thrones' soundtrack.

I've tried to watch the other Iron Chefs aside from the original, but none just have the same attraction as the old one. Not sure what it is but I think it has to do with the chairman and chefs as you mentioned. Or maybe it was a time in my life when I enjoyed sitting in my dad's bed watching late-night dubbed cooking shows. Not sure.
I don't doubt the use of the GoT soundtrack is legal, though, considering those channels seem to have such ridiculous licenses. If I hear another Japanese TV show play the Terminator or Star Wars music I may very well kill myself.

It's pretty good, much better than Iron Chef America or *gag* Iron Chef USA, but it's still not as good as the original Iron Chef. There's no one who can replace Chairman Kaga and his theatrics, and I've got a soft spot for Sakai and Chen Kenichi.
It's unfortunate that there aren't more cooking oriented Japanese shows (other than celebrities eating food and then declaring it to be 'delicious' every time). I'd be quite happy to watch a Japanese cooking show that explains how to make different dishes.

I also love cooking with a dog. I've used their recipes more than a few times. I find their instructions very clear.
