When studying new words, I often find myself looking at multiple sentences in my subs2srs deck in order to see the word used in multiple situations, since this helps me get a better understanding than just a simple dictionary entry. I also often have multiple i+1 sentences for that new word and thus could choose which sentence to learn from, but usually end up just using whichever one Anki happened to show first since that requires the least effort, but this is probably sub-optimal.
I'd like to streamline this process in some way, but I'm not sure how to best go about it and thus am looking for ideas. That is, when I review a new card I like to have a button/shortcut that:
1) somehow displays other cards with the word I'm learning. perhaps filter this by showing the cards for the N easiest sentences, or limit how many other unknowns those sentences can have, etc.
2) choose one of the cards displayed and learn from it instead (ie. insert it at the top of the new-card queue and pop off the current card)
The simplest solution is to have it just redirect you to the card browser with a search filter already in place, as that gives you a nice list layout, but you still have to manually preview each card so it's a bit laborious and not time efficient.
Another idea I thought of was to take all the video clips for the sentences and play them in sequence (as a playlist, so you can go back to a previous clip) and then intercept some keyboard key to "accept" the sentence for that video.
Thoughts on these? Can anyone think of an even nicer way to do this?
