Hi everyone,

I'm using the "Heisigs Remember the Kanji 1-3 wtop 2 comment" deck from anki and I'll reach the 2000 mark in the next few days, and here is my question about that :

Where should I stop ? (2042, 2136, 2200, ... ?)
I don't want to do the 3'000 because I want to start the Core2k/6k vocabulary.
The anki number corresponding to RTK1 5th edition is somewhere in the 2040, should I stop there ?
I have the 6th edition book, which goes to 2200, but I suppose it will be a pain to find the missing kanji from the 2042 that are in the 2200 to learn them, right ?
Also if I want to do the 2136 jouyou kanji it's not in the right order in the deck, or is it ?

The logical place to stop would be at 2042.

i know theres a supplement list on this forum somewhere to be used after finished the 2042 from the other RTK's. I would be nice and do the search for you but i can't be bothered. Anyways I think the supplement is worth it because those kanji are used frequently enough. I can't speak for RTK3 though.

And it seems there's indeed a deck for the supplement, so I'll do it after the 2042.

The best would be to delete every kanjis above 2042 in the rtk1+3 I'm using (3000kanjis) and to merge the 2042 with the supplement, hope it won't mess things up and that the supplement won't come before the 2042 ends

I suspended all after 2042 and then un-suspended the characters contained in the supplement as well as added the extra ones that aren't in RTK3 using the keywords on this site. I highly recommend doing the supplement as it's got some pretty common Kanji like 誰 and 頃.

So did you manually un-suspended the 170+ characters ? Just wondering ^^ Because at least in the deck I use they aren't sorted so I would have to find each character individually.

Yes I manually un-suspended them. I was looking for an excuse to take a break from RTKing for the day and ended up doing it all then. Didn't actually take too long really probably 10-15 minutes. Adding the new ones manually took longer, I wouldn't recommend that haha.

Hehe, yeah Well I'll probably do the lazy way: suspend or delete all above 2042 and merge the supplement deck.
