Weird, fun and awesome drama, J-subs もあるんし. Osusumeだよ

I wouldn't recommend it that highly but it's tolerable. Don't get me wrong I still watch it but it's nowhere near the top of the drama list this season in my opinion. Maybe it's not my preference. For this season I personally recommend the following dramas:

・最高の離婚
・まほろ駅前番外地
・Dinner
・おとめさん

I'd have to say 最高の離婚 is one of the better dramas in the past year or so. Although Eita is one of my favorite actors out of Japan so I hope I'm not bias here.

I started watching it sort of by accident - was watching Japanese TV and episode 5 happened to be on. It got me interested enough the check what the title was and I got back to the start. I've only seen 2 episodes so far, so can't really give any opinions yet but it seems pretty decent. I'll check out some of the titles listed by TheVinster

Culturally, the theme of the show is progressive and interesting in that respect. Entertainment-wise, the characters are annoying, cliché, and one-dimensional.

On a related note, I saw a few minutes of Made in Japan and was drawn into the story. Unfortunately, I was eating dinner with my gf's family, and we changed the channel after the mood became too heavy.

Haven't seen that one. Don't watch TV too heavily, but right now I'm liking 八重の桜.

It's not a normal drama, so I don't know if you can get it from d-addicts, but I've been watching テラスハウス lately. It's basically just Real World, but set in Japan and with a Japanese touch to everything.

I really recommend it, but I bet there are a lot of people that would honestly hate it. If you are the type of person that can enjoy Street Fighter 2 (the movie), then you should probably check out テラスハウス for all it's awful glory.

(Also, I can't wait until they make Jersey Shore: Japan. They just need to get like 6 of the most annoying Japanese people and put them in a house together. It'll be wonderful.)

edit: Looks like there are a couple episodes on d-addicts, but nothing recent :-\
