The idea is that you can join one and only one 'bunch', so you would generally join the bunch that relates to your #1 passion, and everyone else in the bunch would share that #1 passion with you = lots of passionate people.

So, I decided to set up a 'bunch' for Japan, and see if I could gather all of the people who share Japan (language, culture, whatever) as a #1 passion. I need a few more verified members in order to 'launch' the bunch, so if you feel like joining in you can go here: http://www.joinbunch.com/i28

I'm not sure how this will pan out, but I thought I'd give it a shot and see what happens. Personally I find it difficult to choose a #1 passion, and it wouldn't necessarily be Japan but rather Japanese language - I just thought that Japanese language would be a bit too specific/exclusive.

What do you guys think of this concept?

Can't help but think this site will flop. I get the motivation, but most people don't have aspergers for 1 and only 1 thing. Add on the fact that most people are already probably managing a twitter and FB. It almost feels like taking a car and deciding a bicycle or unicycle is better because a car has all these other issues with it, when all you are looking for is getting from point A to point B.

I agree. I don't have a top passion for anything. I have about 4-5 things that I enjoy on an equal level, and ultimately most new social networks these days go to pot because the pull of Facebook and Twitter are much too strong. I'm just the kind of person who likes to jump on each and every social media bandwagon. Just in case it might be remotely worthwhile, which I guess I would consider it to be if I just got one new like-minded contact out of it at least.
