My laptop is a HP machine which is less than a year old. Can't remember the specs, but there is an i7-cpu in there, and the Graphics card isn't too shabby either. It does fry my desk, however. :p

And regarding WW crashes, are you talking about eternal black/white screens? If so, that can actually be fixed by changing some settings, at least on the Euro version.

Have you guys ever compared the performance of a desktop graphics card to a laptop card? The difference is huge. I was going to buy a gaming laptop awhile back, but since I compared the two, I decided to build my own desktop for half the price and double the performance.

Not to mention that you can upgrade your desktop graphics card. With laptops, you're
stuck with what you have.

PSP emulators haven't gotten very far, if I remember correctly, so I doubt you'll be able to truly enjoy the games on one.

Just so you know, hacking the Wii is extremely easy and you can still get legitimate copies of the games you want to play. Just because it's modded doesn't mean you can only use it for piracy.

As for emulating, even on my rather weak computer (i3 550 @3.2GHz (two cores with HT) and Nvidia GeForce GT 430), I can play most anything up to the PS2. I've even played action based games on it with no problems. So you don't really need a high-end rig to emulate.

^It might just be Dolphin that is a ressource hog, then.
And Hyrule Field on TP is massive.
However, I do find that it works great on much, much weaker computers, so I should probably do some more research :p

It's a very connected world The only problem is that there are still gaming consoles that aren't region free.

Yeah there was a black screen right after the cutscene following the first dungeon. I've looked around, and found people saying that limiting by VPS fixes all problems, but that's like the default setting? Pretty sure that's what I had, although I had an older version of Dolphin. I'm going with disabling audio throttle which is apparently setting the framelimit in the general options tab to the 'audio' option. Anyway, I'll see.

I remember looking at it quite some time ago and found it to be very daunting. It's probably the most result yielding option though, if it's like rooting android phones I should really go through with it. It feels ridiculous that I actually own a Wii console but would have to go to emulators to play the Japanese games.

Obviously if gaming is your priority then nothing beats a stationary. But as a poor student I'll need the mobility of a laptop which I couldn't afford if I sunk money into a stationary, and this gaming based one really has everything I need. Right now at least :p

Relating to the original topic, I'm impatiently waiting for Ni no Kuni. That and the Skyrim DLC will probably have to satisfy my gaming wants, I've got things to do :/

I totally understand what it's like being a poor student. Mobility will always be the #1 reason for having a laptop. But for a pc gamer, it makes more sense to me to buy a really cheap $200 laptop for use with school etc. Then you could spend $1000 and build a killer gaming desktop that would be better than any $2000+ laptop out there. 9 times out of 10, you'll be at home sitting down when pc gaming anyway.
