2. Avoid getting a job or going to school
3. Try to not get fat
I actually did that in 2010. Well...2/3 aint bad... *got fat* haha.

This year 2013 I'm working on my first major software project (independently). It's actually super relevant/inspired by this community and I'm going to be releasing it here in the next few hours!

I hate making idle resolutions, so I've tried to whittle this down to things that I will really work for this year.

-Finish Tae Kim by the end of Jan (should be easy)
-Core6K OR 3000-4000 sentences in my own sentence deck. Core requires less time on my part, but I haven't fully committed to it since it's pretty boring.
-Transition to full native Japanese study materials by 2014.
-SRS Japanese TV, manga, etc instead of just watching
-Start sketching ideas for new design projects/assignments immediately. I'm sick of procrastinating just because I'm scared I won't come up with anything good. Got better about this in 2012, but I'm still not there.
-Present our new design with my research grant team at the IDSA conference
-Plan my upcoming Japan trip in May, and make sure I save enough $$$ for it
-HIIT and weight training at least 3x/week (gotta stay fit if I'm going to do any shopping in Japan...)
-Complete the artwork commission that's been hanging over my head for 6 months
-I'm designing my first collection for a big fashion show in April. Must make it the craziest show I can!
-Apply for 6 internships this month and 6 more before summer
-3D print my first pair of shoes
-Eat lots more wild game and grass-fed red meat. Gotta up the veggie intake, too.
-Japanese, japanese, japanese!

Mine are really simple

1. Start a family
2. Lose 25 pounds and shape up
3. Keep on improving my spoken Japanese skills. I want to have more higher quality conversations with my in-laws.

I decided to go into some details in case I read this again next year:

1. a. Refresh my theoretical engineering skills and knowledge, and dive into some advanced topics.
b. Get comfortable with engineering research.
c. Work on getting a scholarship in Robotics or Automotive control related specialty.

2. a. Finish Tae Kim's Essential and Core 2K then move to native materials.
b. Study new grammar points and words as I encounter them, probably from TK and Core 6K.
c. Write regularly on Lang-8.
d. Find more Japanese friends.

3. a. Return to being positive.
b. Make meditation a habit.
c. Decide on a life long target. DONE!
