Japanese support for WM6

#1
Hi All

I've just got an HTC P3450 Touch as a Christmas present to myself (as well as that watch from another thread LOL), it runs Windows Mobile 6. Does anybody know how to add Japanese support for web and e-mail?

I want to keep UK English as the main interface, but want Japanese (and Thai if anybody knows about that too) on the move.

I've found places selling a pack too add Japanese, but think this is just a scam with somebody selling a free add-on pack for profit.

Any ideas?

I looked around for a while looking for a way to add Japanese support to WM6. WM2003 was an easy single registry entry.

Eventually I got my hands on the Microsoft Mobile Device Emulator and just ripped the font and registry entries from it.

Basic Japanese support

This includes a cab I created with the font, registry entries, and a free basic SIP (input).

This doesn't have any kind of localization in it, and I've only tested it with Japanese. It may work with Chinese, seeing as the character set should be in the MS Gothic font. I can not guarantee any support beyond Japanese though.

Thanks, but I still can't see any kanji in e-mails or on the web :^<

I used a hack that I found when I had a pda with WM5 on it. That was before I was mugged and had it stolen. If you hunt around on the web, you'll probably find something similar for WM6.

This guy Asukal seems to be quite good at it but his English isn't that good and his website is hideous.
