Progress lost, starting anew

#1
All of the data on my iPhone was lost, and I'm unable to sync back the progress I had (trust me, I've tried).
I decided to use the RvTK website this time and burned through 1500 reviews today. My progress has been gone for a little over a week now, and I figure that Thanksgiving break from school would be a good time to get caught back up. To my surprise, I got more than 85% of my reviews. But I think it'll still show me them all again tomorrow, because they were considered "new". Oh well, should be faster tomorrow, and get manageable by the end of the week.
Has anyone else had to start their review progress over?

Yeah. I'm sure it's pretty common lol. When I started RTK the first time, I had stopped at 900 frames or so before being distracted and leaving it for a year. I started it again after almost a year and yes, surprisingly my retention was also about 85%, and the second time through 900 was much much quicker and soon enough I was passed it. It's not all that bad, since those 900 are my strongest in memory now. your progress will go back to the way it was and beyond if you continue

Thanks for the words of encouragement Smile
I didn't stop, really. Just for a week. My anki got cleared from my phone (along with everything else) and it wasn't backed up. So I have to start from the ground up again.
I agree, I can already tell that this is going to more firmly place the kanji in my mind. Big Grin

You should use Ankis sync function, that way you can back your data up on the anki servers.

On the RevTK flashcards, you can press "E" (Easy) that will make the review interval approx. 1.5x longer. I'm afraid it won't change the number of reviews required to get all cards in the longer intervals, but it could space out the early reviews a bit more.
