Waseda Uni, Scholarships and the application process

#1
Hello there,

Recently i attended the Experience Japan Exhibition in London which was a great experience and has made me want to apply for a Japanese university, originally the plan was to study Japanese at a English university i AM still applying to English universities but i would also like to apply to some Japanese ones too, however after the Exhibition i am still unclear on a few (very important) things, i should mention the course i am particularly interested in is Contemporary Japanese Studies Program (CJSP) as Waseda University

1. What kind of Scholarships are available to me? i've heard about the MEXT scholarship however i understand that this will only last for 2 years, while this course is 4 years in duration. Please could someone give me a detailed answer as to what options are open to me, i am a 18 year old British national and am currently in full time education

2. at the moment i have very little understanding of the application process, i am unsure of where to apply, i understand that i have to take the EJU exam. An explanation of the process of applying to a Japanese university or Waseda University would be brilliant

Thanks for replying, ill try to add more questions as i get them.

1. The 2 year MEXT thing is for Grad students. There is a 4 year MEXT scholarship for undergrad. This is undergrad after all. Only problem is, as I understand it, undergrad MEXT scholarship limits your school choices.

2. http://www.waseda.jp/sss/en/cjsp/ Try admissions.

MEXT undergrad scholarships last for 4+ years. You can find more info on them at the Japanese embassy London website.

Waseda application guidelines are here.
