Yamada bought fruits, and Suzuki, cakes.

is the fact that suzuki is marked with wo a mistake?

I would think yes, but is this the grammar books deck you're referring to? With a better idea of where this appears I could look it up in the respective book itself.

Totally makes sense.

The deck come gradually into more complex grammar and vocabulary. Here are three examples :

All the cards are tagged (Basic, Inter or Advanced).

TYPOS: Beginning and Intermediate are 99% ok, they just need an ultimate check. They can be used without the dictionary (but having it is really helpful).
I'm running through Advanced and it looks like there are some really annoying typos, so you shouldn't use this part unless you got the dictionary to check the sentences.

i made a thread about mistakes in this thread and personally think the author should be contacted. I still love the deck though.

Yes, that's definitely wrong. Even Taishi's (joking) suggestion doesn't work because you can't mark multiple things with を to be the objects of the same verb. (をも marking multiple objects is possible, but is formal/literary and not used in speech.)

That deck is full of errors, typos and inappropriate kanji usage. I've going through the cards in order alongside the books and correcting them as necessary, which is the only way to use that deck really.

I'm sure I've heard を being used like this in certain situations like cheesy lines such as "力を、精神を合わせて！", granted it may, as you say, not be strictly grammatically correct, but couldn't it be used in that kind of way in colloquial settings?

You're right...I wouldn't say it's used in colloquial settings, though, it seems like it's more literary-style or used in set phrases. I definitely don't think you could ever get away with just saying something like 今日は肉を、野菜を買う even in a colloquial setting.

I'm not protesting against your claim that using the example above, or the one above would in any way be OK to use and would sound natural. I was just stating that the construct itself has it's place somewhere in the Japanese language.

Uhh, don't get me started on that! When I started using that deck, I was beginner and I never checked the sentences in the book. After a while when I reached a certain level I noticed there were some strange sentences. It turned out that there were quite a few mistakes among the basic sentences so now I've been checking out the originals since I started the intermediate book. There are some furigana mistakes too, because the author haven't checked the spelling of the Japanese plug-in.

I started a thread about mistakes so people could change the sentences, but someone hijacked it by basically claiming there weren't any mistakes in it. It is a really good deck and I think it would be good to weed out all the mistakes. I have a list on my other laptop and think it would be a worthwhile project.

I agree. Unfortunately, I haven't tracked the mistakes so far but I'll try in the future (although nowadays I don't learn new cards from that deck too often but I will). By the way, it's true that there aren't too many mistakes. Typos in sentences are rare, wrong reading generation by the Japanese plug-in is a bit more frequent and there's quite a lot of inappropriate kanji usage. I was too lazy to bother with these but I'm planning to correct them some day. Maybe around Christmas because I feel that this thread could give me the push I need.

How about a group effort to clean up the deck? I was thinking that it would be also good to have the grammar point in bold, maybe we could do that too.

Who would be up for it?

I'd be willing to help, but I'm super busy so I wouldn't be able to do a large chunk of it...

He basically just means to run the file through a spell-check. I'm sure you could do this using Microsoft Word or something similar. You would also get higher-quality results since you'd be manually checking everything. It might take a long time though.

It's important. You'll see and hear quite a few grammar points from the intermediate book rather frequently. And they are needed for JLPT1 too.

Thank you for making that mistake, though!    The "ankiweb.net" website doesn't seam to have this deck available any more. So your original list might be the only source of those "8547 Sentences" that is still available on the Internet today! (I have successfully downloaded it just now.)
