I have a nook color and I use anki droid. I've been reviewing Hiragana and Katakana with it but the characters don't show up correctly. I don't have the time to figure out how to get the Japanese font on it. Is there a file somewhere that has the kana as individual jpgs?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Specific_kana
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/あ (for example)
Click on the picture to the right (either kana)
If there are many formats available, choose what you want.
Or... just write/copy them all as text and photoshop them.

If you're using Anki 2 you can just put the font in your media directory and sync it, and make use of the font in the card template. See this.
