I've just found this book. Mainly it contains short articles in Japanese, their English counterpart and word lists. I hope some of you will find it useful.

Can't believe there's a book that teaches you how to read newspapers.
The way to get better at reading newspapers is just.....to read them.
Go to any news website and just read articles.

Well, obviously the guy wants to capitalise on his Japanese and I can't see anyhing wrong with that.
A had a look at the content and it seems a decent one, ie. the articles are both in Japanese and English, they have vocab lists, the style of writing Japanese news is explained.
I gather from your comment that you didn't come across this section in DoxJG where they talk about "newspapers Japanese". If your are not familiar with this style you may be a bit lost in reading (admittedly this style is not to hard, yet being able to have some practice in reading is nice).
