Hey guys, so i just got anki 2 which im finding frustrating but usable. I have read the manual however I cannot figure out how to show the correct percentage when doing cards. Can anyone offer any insight into this? Ive looked for a while on how to do this so please dont tell me to read the manual..

Click the graphs icon at the top right to show statistics and scroll to the Answer Buttons chart (2nd chart from the bottom). There you can view the correct percentage of new, young and mature cards. It also provides you the option of changing the scope from 1 month to 1 year or deck life.

It doesn't show the correct percentages for the current day though which is a shame. I remember it was present in 1.2 and I liked using to see how well I've done for any particular day.

I can't see why that's important — there's no way to improve that value unless you "lie" during the reviews or add cards that are too easy to answer (cards that are just taking time and wouldn't need to be in Anki), and it also can make people hesitate to fail a card because it decreases the percentage, even if that's the best action for long-term memorization. Even in this forum every once in a while appeared someone that was "demotivated" because their percentages have decreased a lot, but what for? That can be really counter-productive.

Some of us need to breathe superfluous data for sustenance.
