Using Anki for RTK, ect

#1
Is this a dumb question? I've been curious.
How is your anki set up to learn the kanji with RTK.
I assume you guys actually use the RTK deck, which I'm trying but..
How does your process work?
Do you write them all out and only proceed when you can remember the keyword and kanji?

What I do ( I know this isn't correct which is why I'd like help.)
Learn the new 20 cards, plus review.
Write out each kanji that comes, but I'm never sure what to put at the bottom. (Good, hard, soon, ect.) I mean I'm not really remembering them .. just.. going through the cards?

ANYWAYS, yes, someone explain how to do this, because I'm quite stupid with Anki right now.

I guess it depends on your pace -- as in, how many terms you learn per day. Here's what I did, though it will be different for everyone.

Note: I set New Cards/Day to 0 for the RTK Deck in Anki so that I could have control over how many new cards I would see per day.

1. Do all reviews for old cards. You shouldn't see any new cards at this point.
2. Learn X new kanji (in my case, about 20) -- either come up with stories or read the ones others have posted. In my case, I read the top few stories from the community and then just wrote the kanji on my palm with my finger once.
3. Do some short task. I watched one anime episode for example.
4. Review the same X kanji in Anki (click "Learn more" in after going into the review). In my case, I marked "again" if I couldn't remember right away, and used "easy" and "very easy" rarely.
5. Repeat 2-4 until bored.

But like I said, it depends on your pace. The above is a pretty relaxed pace (it has frequent breaks in the form of step 3), but it's also pretty time-consuming. If you want to finish ASAP, it's probably not the best, but for me it was a reasonable pace and I didn't have to worry about burnout.
