Hi!
(Putting aside the current controversies) I always like to flirt with the Chinese language. I suppose it might be the case of many of us Japanese learners who did RTK. After all, it's kanji heaven ;P I've just read Afterdark from Murakami (not in Japanese, not yet), but I loved the girl studying Chinese! I also like to watch movies combining China (or Taiwan) and Japan like Autumn Moon or The Bird People in China.
Anyway, since I want these flirts to remain flirts for now, I'd like to know if you guys know of any more Japanese anime/movie/drama/book/you-name-it that features Chinese (positively if possible lol), especially Chinese language? Like, a Chinese character, or a Japanese person studying Chinese, or travelling to China... I'm sure there's a lot of those, but it's like... difficult to search specifically for them lol. Thanks ^^

There's the TV show ロケみつザ・ワールド, half of which follows the reality TV adventures of a Chinese woman who uses her limited Japanese to convince absolute strangers to hold her hand and ride the train with her to a nearby city. Each episode usually features a few excerpts from the star's (Chinese) diary entry.

Well Nagasawa masami is going to star in a taiwaese drama and act in mandarin and it'll air 2013.theres a Chinese talent whose name is ro-ra'chan in katakana. You could check out talk variety shows she went on

Okay, out of the stuff that I have read/watched:
日本人の知らない日本語 (drama) - there are two Chinese students of Japanese, and they occasionally provide interesting tidbits, like the differences between Chinese and Japanese kanji meanings.
コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ (anime) - a few important Chinese characters, and the second season partially takes place in China. Although in this universe China is still a feudal monarchy secretly ruled by a clique of eunuchs.
さよなら絶望先生 (manga & anime) - quite a few jokes and scenarios about Sino-Japanese relations. The manga seems to share the Japanese nationalists' view of China as a country both condescending and envious towards Japan, constantly scheming to undermine it and steal its technologies.
Axis powers ヘタリア (manga & anime) - a series about antropomorphic representations of various nations. There are some jokes about China's relations with Japan and other countries, but overall he is a secondary character. Plus he has that stupid ある-thing going..
ムダヅモ無き改革 (manga & a very short anime) - a gag series where international political arguments are settled over EPIC games of Mahjong. Ex-PM Koizumi is the protagonist and, IIRC, Mao Zedong is the main antagonist of the anime adaptation.
おたくのビデオ (anime) - the protagonist, an otaku-turned-businessman, travels to China to build a factory at one point.
Petshop of Horrors (manga and anime) - the central character is Chinese and most of it takes place in the L.A. Chinatown.
アドルフに告ぐ (manga) - a historical drama set during WWII. Refers to historical events surrounding the Sino-Japanese wars, like the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, and, IIRC, part of the story takes place in Japanese-occupied Manchuria.

i know it's a stretch, because it's a novel written by a French woman, but the Girl Who Played Go is a pretty good book, and it's a quick read.
And there are some Japanese soldiers in Ip Man. it's very stylized and the Japanese characters are hyperbolic, but it's a good movie, nonetheless.
Ranma 1/2 is a great manga/anime. Ranma did his/her martial arts training in China, and there are some Chinese characters/panda. I guess none of my suggestions are living up to your criteria, but i figured i'd mention them anyway. :/
中国の鳥人 is great, as you already know.
