Interesting spoken word: recommendations please

Recently I've been thinking it would be fun to explore and possibly memorise some Japanese spoken word stuff but I don't really know where to start and was hoping there be people here that could recommend things. I'm thinking mainly poetry but also possibly rap or whatever really as long as the words are interesting and they're reasonably short. It's not something I've explored in English (though I've always thought I should) so I don't even know what I'd like to find let alone where to look for it. Stuff other people like seems the best starting point.
To begin with, I'd like to recommend but there are many different ways, and without knowing what makes you tick and stay motivated, it is hard to say what you need to do explore. Although personally, I wouldn't use "Stuff other people like seems the best starting point", since it may not be my cup of tea.

By the way, have you ever ponder upon the reasons; how some threads have replies while a few threads went by without a single reply?

Did it occur to you that it can be difficult for other forum users to come up with recommendation because:

(1) the subject matter and the message post are in conflict (e.g. short word <-> poetry)

(2) interesting/short can be quite relative terms
(that is, how short is short? what is interesting to you? can you give an example?)

(3) Is it English -> Japanese Poetry?  Or are you looking for Japanese -> English Poetry?
