All good words to know. 網 and 掴む are common words, if that's what was used.　 セミ is not -very- common (compared to うさぎ、カエル、 and 蛍 for example) but still it's fairly common. The sound of cicadas in the trees still speaks of summer to me, even though I haven't lived in an area with cicadas for a very long time.

I learnt about セミ from an online lesson where I could hear them through my apologetic tutor's mic! That's something that sticks in your mind forever
