I don't have a solution right now. If you don't have the issue in source mode, you can activate it by default in your profile > Edit Options > Other Options : check "Put the editor in source mode by default".

@tokyostyle: Thanks for the recommendation. I like the Google Japanese IME much more than the Windows 8.1 one.
