I'm looking for a frequency list, say the 3,000 most frequently occurring words (including compounds of course).

I figure I can work on this list at the same time I'm working my way through my graded readers.

I don't know how accurately this list reflects actual usage frequency but I used to reference this list quite a bit:

The core decks are supposed to be based roughly off of a frequency list.

CB's novel frequency lists from http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?p...#pid168616. They are based on a corpus of over 5000 novels, which includes new novels that are not available in the public domain.

http://corpus.leeds.ac.uk/frqc/internet-jp.num from http://www.manythings.org/japanese/words/leeds/. It is based on a relatively large corpus of random websites, but it is cut off after the first 15000 words.

http://jptxt.net/word-frequency.txt. It has columns for three word frequency lists: CB's word_freq_report_jparser.txt, internet-jp.num, and a word frequency list I made based on anime and drama subtitles.

http://pomax.nihongoresources.com/index....1222520260, which is based on about 1000 novels analyzed with MeCab.

http://shang.kapsi.fi/kanji/jawp-mecab-words.csv from http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=3216. It is based on a 25 GB data dump of the Japanese language Wikipedia, but it is cut off after the first 20000 words.
