When to use Kanji and when to use Hiragana?

I recently completed RTK1. Now I'm in the process of adding grammar and phrases to Anki.

However, I'm not sure which words should contain Kanji and which should only use Hiragana. So, is there an easy way to know if a word is typically written using Kanji or not?
