(iPod/iPhone) App Store - How to buy J apps with no J credit card?

Just bought an iPod Touch. I can't buy apps from the app store because I don't have a Japanese credit card. Is there a way around this?

EG. Can I buy credit in Australian dollars and then use that?

OR

Can I buy credit in yen somewhere?
