I am a relatively new T|X user as well, and am extremely satisfied with my experience (other than the troubles with a few sites). I have installed CJKOS to display Japanese text and POBox as my input interface. The official page link for the Palm OS5 version seems to be down, but I am 99% sure that I downloaded POBox from the following location, http://homepage.mac.com/yasseima/FileSharing14.html . Back to the original post, I assume a Pocket PC may be a little 'easier' to configure for Japanese support, but if you are looking for value and are willing to put in a little extra time fooling around with things the Palm T|X is a very nice purchase.
