Yes, this is likely to happen, and in many cases, you will not only speak Japanese better than you do in your 1st language, but sometimes you will speak it better than the Japanese themselves, because you are learning it in a formal way, and you are aware of many things in the language the Japanese are unware of, like those things you are unware in your 1st language.
