Hmm, It looks like avs2avi can't handle Japanese text. I'll look into a solution that won't involve the user renaming files.

About the timings cutting off the end of sentences, it might be good to have a "padding" option to record a second or so more of each clip. I found when characters' lines overlapped one of them would be cut short. On average it's better to have recordings be too long than too short. Just a thought.
