It still shocks me how revisionist my schools' history lessons were. They completely glossed over how the allies drove Germany to near destitution treating them like a cash cow after ww1. The one that really opened my eyes to it was how Oliver Cromwell was sold as a hero that won democracy for the common folks. Never even mentioned what happened in Ireland.
