Does anyone know any JET Program CIRs (Coordinator for International Relations) from the US? Or any CIRs in general. I want to hear more about their experiences. Unlike JET Assistant Language Teachers, CIRs actually have to know Japanese. Anyway just wanted to hear if anyone knows any CIRs or heard any stories about the position. Thanks

There's a French manga publisher called Ahmed Agne who used to be a CIR. He went there after his bachelor degree in Japanese (and was among the best of his year). Like the job description mentions he mostly did translation for international cooperation. He often compares his experience to Barakamon (though he wasn't on an island, can't remember where it was, someplace like 山梨県).
