Thank you for the iHeartRadio tip, it took some time to get it working for me here in Europe, but I eventually managed with a VPN and fresh playstore account
I also found that there are plenty of JPop radio stations on TuneIn radio http://tunein.com/. It also has an Android app, so I use it to listen on my smartphone. TuneIn includes the station mentioned in the original post, and I have no problem accessing it from a europe, without VPN. Just search for JPop or Japanese and you will find a relatively large list of (likely) community driven stations. Example of what I am listening to now: http://tunein.com/radio/J-Pop-Project-Radio-s225524/. There are also a couple of stations that broadcast from Japan, but not all of them load for me.
