I think a lot of people do follow the correct stroke order, but just don't lift their pens. I agree with yudantaiteki that it def makes trying to work out what a scribble on the paper actually is.

I was given advice from a Japanese teacher to say "mada, mada" or "not yet." Also, whenever I compliment a Japanese speaker (in English) they always say "No, no" so I think your iie is fine.

I would recommend Japanese For Everyone's workbook. It has some simple exercises and ones that really make you think. Over all it's a good workbook.

For changing fonts in Firefox: Tools>Options>Content Under "Fonts and Colours" go to "Advanced". You can change everything there, including font and size. Hope that helps
