Really easy manga/novel without furigana? Bit of a hard ask. There are adult versions of きまぐれロボット that presumably don't have furigana. かみちゅ! is probably the easiest manga I've read with minimal furiga...

I think the words-per-page manga assumption is reasonable. Counting characters in manga would be hugely annoying because you can't easily automate it, and given some pages have less words than others ...
