It might mess up things like 吉田[よしだ] 先生[せんせい], but even then the space in front of 吉田 will probably keep the furigana from creeping too far forward. It will probably be OK on the whole.

Nice, looks like the second example is the way to go with a space preceding any kanji with furigana. It looks like changes will have to be manually made. I'll go ahead and fix my portion.
