860-900 That's more than I expected. I learned the 518 kanji from the two MNN books, but I also have 1532 mature cards and 1018 young cards on the Core 2k/6k Vocabulary and Sentences deck.

In the sentence: この町は嫌いだ。 何も新しいことなど始まらない。 こうしていて、何かが変わるんだろうか。 What's the meaning of こうしていて? I've read that こうして usually means "thus", but I can't see how that would fit here.
