In my experience (just above 2k in) core will never be fun. What makes it doable despite that is your enthusiasm. It seems rewatching three or so episodes of Gintama is enough "mindfood" to get me out...

I don't mean to be a downer but I don't think that's worth it - I can't speak for the Chinese but I'm very used to reading japanese kanji, and that no longer looks like a smiley or a meaningless scrib...

Ah thanks for the correction.. One of the reasons I chose zhuyin is because of the lack of temptation of using english pronounciation as with pinyin, making it easier to learn the correct pronounciat...
