how to tackle Core2000 in Anki? - warakawa - 2012-08-16

can someone advise me on how to effective create a set of production and recognition models for Core2000?

By default, the front contains only hiragana, this can be ineffective because their are many words with same pronunciation in Japanese, so I don't know what the answer is as there can be many possibilities.

So I was thinking in front, I will put hiragana reading and sentence kana, on the back I will have the meaning in English and Kanji.

Is that how it supposed to be done?

to admin: this is not an Anki technical question, I am only asking what to put in my question and answer of my cards. Thanks

Thought this might help. Btw I found this info by searching "Core production" in the forum search bar.

aphasiac Wrote:I started doing Listening/Production cards when I was about 500 sentences into Core 2000. The layout of these cards were:

Front:
Audio
Cloze Delete "Compare to Expression"

Back
Audio
Expression
Reading
Meaning

Basically idea was to listen, comprehend then reproduce the exact kanji sentence heard. Not exactly production, more transcription, but it did improve my listening comprehension and writing abilities very quickly.
You can probably find more tips by typing in key words in the forum search.
