how do you study core - Miyumera - 2012-08-21 I've been studying core, and I've been trying to learn the vocabulary that is introduced within the sentences as well as the new vocabulary word it's exemplifying. Should I be doing this ? Or should I just focus on learning the main vocab that it's presenting and move on? how do you study core - kitakitsune - 2012-08-21 It's always a good idea to learn all the words in the sentence. Are you very new to Japanese? how do you study core - Miyumera - 2012-08-21 yeah pretty much. i figured those words in the sentences would come up later on... how do you study core - kitakitsune - 2012-08-21 Are you using any other sources to learn Japanese? Learning from core is probably not the best way to start out with Japanese. how do you study core - PotbellyPig - 2012-08-21 I would look up the words so you can make sense of the sentence. But you don't have to necessarily memorize them immediately (ie. putting them in a deck or activating them in the current deck). I know you are using iKnow! so the words do come up later (though sometimes quite a bit later ) That's just my method of using a pre-made frequency based vocabulary list like core 6000/10000. If I am reading words I don't know from sentences I find in texts, I add them to a separate deck. Just my 2 cents.
how do you study core - Miyumera - 2012-08-21 well.. I'm currently reading through from start to finish japanese the manga way to have an overview of sentence structure, but i'm not focused on memorizing anything, just reading it through. And i'm planning to get genki, but i'm actually considering learning vocab first so that I can just focus on grammar later on. I'd like to read manga but I can't even get past the first page.. lol.. although japanese the manga way has made it half the battle, but i'm in dire need of vocabulary @potbellypig. Ok so i thought.. yeah it was taking up a lot of time writing down words in the sentences and trying to learn those too. just focusing on the actual word being presented would make going through step 1 much faster hehh.. |
