Does anyone own this book?

It looks pretty cool but I would like to know if the recorded MP3 sentences have the English in the same track or as a separate track.

Here is a review of the book: http://mikotoneko.wordpress.com/2010/10/01/book-review-the-ultimate-japanese-phrasebook/
It looks interesting indeed.
But there is already a thread about this: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=5732.

Unfortunately the iOS app (about which they talk in this thread) has been removed from the iTunes Store.

196 mp3s with several phrases each. English phrase followed by Japanese.

Is that good or bad? What do you think?.

I may be mistaken, but I think that the contents of that book (half of it at least) are available as a deck on anki. Perhaps you could "try before you buy"?

And I second the shadowing books recommendation. I found them very useful.

I have the shadowing ones. Can you download shared decks in Anki 2 already?

I'm not sure. The last time I tried to upload a deck, I was blocked by ankiweb. But, the pre-anki 2.0 app should be able to download it.

EDIT: The latest release is still 1.2.8. Can anki 2 use/convert anki 1 decks? Even if it can't directly, couldn't one just export the cards/facts and import into anki 2?

The-Ultimate-Japanese-Phrasebook-Sentences - turvy - 2012-08-15

Downloaded Anki 1 -> the deck, imported it to Anki 2, worked fine.

There are 950 mp3 files with the spoken Japanese only. The hero who put this deck together had to split the mp3 files and do a lot of boring editing.

Because I hate this:

Just to clarify, are the white rabbit shadowing decks available for share on anki?
