I'm about to finish RTK1 and I want to know what I should do next? - Ajanime22 - 2012-06-20 I want to learn the readings of the kanji using Anki, but idk what to use. I hear a lot about something called Core 2k and I see it on Anki, but I don't see a book for it. How am I supposed to review flashcards on Anki that I've never seen in a book? And is there any book out there that teaches you the readings of the kanji and only uses them in vocabulary words, not sentences and has an available deck on Anki? Please and thanks in advance. At the beginning you'll fail a lot, but it'll get easier and easier as you make progress. You don't "need" to have "studied" them beforehand. Eventually they'll stick, especially when you start to see how a certain kanji is used with a certain style of vocabulary, always using one of the same few readings. You could have done this even without RtK but it certainly helps quite a bit to have a "feel" for each kanji. I guess you'll have to read it and see for yourself (*cough downloadable cough*). Also, have you seen this thread? http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=5110 I'm about to finish RTK1 and I want to know what I should do next? - yudantaiteki - 2012-06-20 Ajanime22 Wrote:And is there any book out there that teaches you the readings of the kanji and only uses them in vocabulary words, not sentencesJust out of curiosity, why would you want this? I'm about to finish RTK1 and I want to know what I should do next? - Ajanime22 - 2012-08-20 So I just got RTK2 and noticed that ghey don't have all the readings for the kanji. ie: for the kanji, 文, its supposed to be BUN and MON. But te only have BUN. What's up with that. And they also have absolutely NO Kun readings. Why? Btw, idk how I made this post. Can someone tell me how to make a new one. Thanks in advanced. As to kanji readings, I know nothing about anki decks etc, but you are perhaps looking for something like this: http://kanjidamage.com/ or this: The Kodansha Kanji Learner's Dictionary Jack Halpern http://www.kanji.org/kanji/dictionaries/learners/learners.htm Sample page http://www.kanji.org/kanji/dictionaries/learners/ldsample.pdf Or you probably need to learn some grammar first: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=6840&page=14 GRAMMAR STUFF Just out of curiosity, how old are you? I'm 102 year old and decided not to grow any longer. Good luck. If you read around here you can see that several methods are available after finishing RTK. Nukemarine's guide is a good start to see what's going around here (posted by EratiK) Check our Wiki: http://rtkwiki.koohii.com/wiki ,it has a lot of explanations, and you need those because things will look confusing at first. Check this too: http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=1102 Most importantly, check out several things, and try to find your own path for learning, there's no one correct method. I agree with buonaparte that you need to study some grammar before (Tae Kim's is fantastic) buonaparte Wrote:The Kodansha Kanji Learner's DictionaryMy eyes!! What does Roumaji do in a KANJI dictionary? KANJI dictionary! What was the author thinking when he did that? I'm about to finish RTK1 and I want to know what I should do next? - buonaparte - 2012-08-21 undead_saif, you seem to intensely dislike ローマ字 (roomazi). What I find surprising is the fact that they don't mark pitch. They are pitchless and that makes me speechless. Ajanime22, two more kanji lists with example words only, no sentences and no texts. This one comes with audio. http://www.saiga-jp.com/kanji_dictionary.html And this one comes with plenty of links, but no audio. It is for deaf people. http://ck.kolivas.org/Japanese/kanji.html I'm about to finish RTK1 and I want to know what I should do next? - yudantaiteki - 2012-08-21 It makes no difference whether the dictionary uses romaji or kana. There are a number of good resources that have romaji in them. |
