Classical Japanese resources - Reiliar - 2012-06-15

Hi everyone,
this is my first topic on this forum and I'm sorry but I couldn't find a welcome topic or something like it.
Well, i'm italian and my english is awful (i know about it but I spent my last year for japanese and just a bit for english). I finished rtk1 and kore6000 so i'm not a completly stranger about this world Big Grin also I lurk this forum from months.

I'm searching for some resources about classical japanese, for an exam and maybe you can gimme some help. In the "list of free audiobooks" topic, I found the Oku no Hosomichi audiobook and should be useful.
The link for its traslation is currently offline, anyone can reupload it or know where I can find it, please?

Here's the list:
- Hojoki: pp. 15-23 (until すなはち倒れ伏しぬ)
- Taketori monogatari: pp. 29-35 - かぐや姫の生ひ立ち、貴公子たちの求婚、佛の御石の鉢(石つくりの皇子の);
- Heike monogatari: pp. 5-6 (祇園精舎);
- Oku no hosomichi: pp. 11-12, 36-37( 発端、平泉);

- Ogura Hyakunin Isshu: poetries 1-7;
- Man'yōshū, Maki XVI, poetries n° 3835, 3842,3843;
- Oku no Hosomichi by Matsuo Basho: "Jo", introduction;
- Sankashū by Saigyō Hōshi.

Even the full text or some other resources such traslations should be great but they aren't necessaries, as I should analize them later..
Thanks for everyone who will help, I hope this can be helpful for other users.

Reiliar, Ciao!

I'm not sure which version you're looking for, as there are about 9 English translated version of the 奥の細道 (Oku no Hosomichi) according to wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oku_no_Hosomichi

Scroll down to the external links (on the wiki page) and there are Japanese text as well as the Japanese audio links.
Oku no Hosomichi - Read in Japanese by kaseumin (mp3 and ogg files)
http://librivox.org/oku-no-hosomichi-by-matsuo-bash%C5%8D/

For the English-Japanese parallel text, it is available at:

As for the other "monogatari" and stuff on your (wish) list, can you refer a link to where you may have come across on "list of free audiobooks" topic? or was it from somewhere else?

Most of the resources can be found from the Wikipedia site, that is, from the external links or try Google. Hope this helps. Good luck in your exam. Big Grin
