Just finished, I think it took me a little less than 3 months. I've had the last 50 just sitting there for the past few days, feels good to just need to worry about reviews now(not counting other japanese studies).

Thanks guys, it was a long time coming and I missed a while and cards stacked up because life got in the way. I'm elated I managed to finish it. It's a great feeling. But not as good as finishing RTK 3 I imagine!

But now I realized that I made a little step only... It took me 7 months to complete as I wrote my stories in English rather than in my native language (just to improve my 凡 skills
) Now I'm wondering if the RTK II will be as smooth as the first volume! IMHO RTK II will take at two or three times to complete but who knows...I grab the chance to thank all of you for your help!!!!!

huzzzzzzah! I just finished RTK1! I just poured a lottt of energy into this and completed it in a little less than 2 months. I carried this book pretty much literally everywhere I went and studied kanji during every idle second of time I had. I would study them while walking to class, standing in line at the grocery store, riding in cars with family etc pretty much everywhere.
I was already conversationally fluent in Japanese before I started (after just returning from living in Japan for a year) and I knew about 250 Kanji before starting RTK1 so I was at a pretty large advantage as well.
This website is a godsend, as is RTK itself. Thanks!
The most important thing: Motivation. Don't ever give up, you'll make it there eventually!
Congrats as well to everybody who has already finished, it's a pretty massive undertaking.
Next up, RTK3. Where's remember the hanzi when you need it?

I've been a bit naughty and not read all the previous posts in this thread. However, I'm just so happy to have entered the final chapter into the untested column i couldn't restrain myself. Will have a good night's sleep, then when I get up in the morning, test that last chapter, plus about 6 kanji from the previous chapter, and then catch up on what my senpai graduates of rtk1 have posted. Well, just transferred my last batch of RTK1 Kanji out of the blue box. Feels good to be done, but a little empty because RTK has been my central focus for the last two months. I suppose getting to substitute Manga and terebi dorama for adding new RTK1 kanji isn't a bad deal!
Cheers to everyone who's posted stories. I'm sure that I used at least one story from all the regular contributors, and I wouldn't have made it this far without you. Of course thanks to Ricardo for the ace greasemonkey scripts, and last, but by no means least, Fabrice, whose commitment and genius have made finishing RTK 1 (and beyond) a tangible dream to those of us who laboured alone and often unmotivated with just the book for company.
Now it's time to hit the manga.

Finally done! It took me a bit longer than I wanted, but I got it done! I wouldn't have finished without Fuaburisu's website and all yins stories! Sometimes I would look at a kanji and think, "how in the hell and I gonna make story for Verisimilitude out of toothpaste and rocking chair?", but then one of you geniuses will have somehow done it. Some things I found helpful - Always write your story down, Google image is your friend if you're drawing a blank on a keyword association, and make a good image for *mouth*! Good luck!
