It seems pointless to review and not write it down before you flip the card.LOL of course I don't do 1000 a day. I finished a few months ago and I'm down to between 30-60 cards a day. Yes, I still write them down religiously. However; I do them on their due date! What's pointless is to let them sit until you want to do them and then only do 20-30 a day and have 1000 due cards. That will cause you to forget them. The "I just finished RTK1, please congratulate me" thread. - Jarvik7 - 2010-05-06 Sitbon Wrote:700 reviews a day? 1000!? You do write it down, yeah? It seems pointless to review and not write it down before you flip the card. That number was for my current vocab reviews. When I was in the midst of RTK I was doing around 200 reviews a day iirc (writing them down). The "I just finished RTK1, please congratulate me" thread. - nicksan - 2010-05-07 Well, I haven't posted on here for a while, but now is a good time. I just finished RTK. For the second time. I did it last year and felt amazing, but then the reviews piled up and eventually I stopped reviewing. The knowledge fell away quickly, leading to several months of no Japanese. I picked Japanese back up and have been working at it solidly for months now. 2 months ago I started RTK again - it's flown by with little hassle. But the moral of the story is to keep reviewing and never stop. Don't let the reviews put you off. 200 a day after finishing is nothing compared to 2 months of effort going back through the book. I'm feeling hyped now. RTK3 awaits me tomorrow! Keep your eye on the goal guys, don't get discouraged. Congrats to everyone else in the thread. The "I just finished RTK1, please congratulate me" thread. - Leal26 - 2010-05-17 Oh well, after 5 months I finally finished RTk1. I just wanted to thank everyone from the website that made it so easy and fun to learn kanjis, I did most of the kanjis on the bus ( it was a bitch to write them down) but whenever I had a hard time, I would look up the stories of the website, Spider-man helped me ALOT hahaha it feels rather odd to able to develop this rather unusual stories, but really fun to play with, hell yeah Heisig hahahaha Rtk2, Rtk3 and Remembering the Kana are already at my book shelf... but for now, I need to study for my calculus and physics test, and of course reviews... P.S.: The encouragement thread also helped a lot, being bitched really encourages people to do things The "I just finished RTK1, please congratulate me" thread. - paasan - 2010-05-18 Great job on completing RTK1, Leal26 and ems573! Keep up your work on Japanese and good luck. PS: physics&math <3 The "I just finished RTK1, please congratulate me" thread. - Groot - 2010-05-18 Congrats to both of you. You won't regret it; I'm constantly thanking Heisig under my breath as I encounter kanji now. Although I'd recommend that you keep up with your daily reviews here if you can; you don't want all that effort to go to waste. It's been easy doing it a second time around, I recongize/write the kanji easily. So I kept pressing easy/adding stories for the ones I can't remember well. I doubt I'll be doing this all over again though. I remember when I initial started I did some stuff wrong, so I had to start over again anyways. This was like last summer.(I did it wrong and plus my computer recently encountered blue screen of death as well,so I was like NOOOO! had to reboot everything. So technically this is the third time i'm starting it(but this time around it's more for just seeing what I didn't remember.
