Movist, video player for OS X that can display dual subtitles - jimmyellinger - 2012-06-30

I came across a video player last week for OS X that can display dual subtitles. It's called Movist and is available here:

Download Movist

I wanted this because I have some dramas where the Japanese subs I downloaded are in VobSub and the English are in SRT/ASS. I like subs2srs, but it can't create dueling subtitles with VobSub (at least as far as I can tell).

To use dual subtitles in Movist, first load both subtitle files through the File menu. Then press Alt/option+command+c to bring up the control panel. Then click Properties. You will see check boxes for your subtitles. All you need to do is check both boxes. You can edit subtitles location (and font for SRT/ASS) through the standard OS X Preferences pane.

For anyone using Windows KMPlayer can do the same thing. My original plan had been running KMPlayer through a VM, but it was lagging a little.
