Kanji symbol translation - vampques - 2012-04-20

So, I am on the research of finding the correct translation for my tattoo. I want to make some japanese kanji symbols (two words actually) as a tattoo, but I don't want the common mistakes to happen to me as well. (Ex. Wrong translation)

So I decided to start researching in order to find the correct translation, and ask people with some real knowledge.

So if anyone can help me out, just pm me.

Thanks for your time

Respectfully,
vampques

Why not just discuss it on the board? Or are you fishing for e-mail addresses?

Oh yes of course. What I want to write is Guardian Angel.
I have found "Guardian" and "Angel" as words alone. And "Guardian Angel" as a phrase. And they are not the same... So that makes me think its surely not correct.

So anyone can help me out? Smile

Denshi Jisho says 守護天使, which is pretty straightforwardly guardian + angel.
I don't know which connotations it carries though.
What was the phrase you found?

Yeah, 守護天使 is correct.

The Japanese Wikipedia article shows it to correspond with the concept you're going for.

I have it in images, not a text. So that is it? 100%? Big Grin

Out of curiosity, could you put the image of the phrase on imageshack and post the link (if you have the time)?
For a 100% you should Ask Magamo ™ (name of another thread)! But I think it's not really necessary here.

EDIT: the other guardian was 保護者 (protector, patron).
