I don't know who will find this useful, but here is an Open Office Calc thing I've made which runs through any given word list and checks for them in a corpus of aligned sentences. It returns a list of sentences with the words in them.
What's different about it is that it tries to return the most economical group of sentences. So, from the example list of 4355 words, it returns 1,783 sentences containing all the words from the list that it found. It gives you all the words in as little sentences as possible. Or at least that's the idea.
Only thing is, I've set this up to check for English words, not Japanese. I'm sure it could be used the other way though. I spent ages on it and I'm no programmer, but it's the realisation of an idea I had to help students learning English. i won't push it any further myself.
