Download the add-on again from my previous post and that should fix it. When you replace the add-on, make sure you keep ankiemperor.db or you'll loose your gold, etc.

I'm getting the following startup error when I launch Anki 2.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 after placing the contents of your zip in my Anki addons folder (the path to which on Mac is ~/Documents/Anki/addons). The traceback looks suspiciously similar to the one in my original post, so I'm guessing it's the same Mac-related bug.

Btw, what is the name of the file that makes the AnkiEmperor window appear? The AnkiEmperor in my linux laptop does not have any images like in your screenshot. It is just a plain and boring text. It does have pics during pop ups though-- congrats for the extra gold (the thumbs up shows up here) or for finishing a construction (the pic shows up here also). Btw, I put the files under the /home/user/Anki/addons

Install
Unzip the file and put the contents of the folder into your anki add-ons folder.
It should look like this:

You can use your old save file from Anki 1 too. Look in your Anki 1 AnkiEmperor folder and copy ankiemperor.db to the Anki 2 AnkiEmperor folder.

Last edited = last updated. The add-on won't tell you when there is an update so check back here. If you update, remember not to delete your ankiemperor.db file.

I'll keep updating until Proxx takes over or ports it himself.

For those using the updated add-on, please tell me if you are getting as much gold as you used to in AnkiEmperor for Anki 1. I had to change the way AnkiEmperor gave gold slightly because I'm not sure how to get anki 2 to give me a card's successive review count.

Nevertheless, I upgraded to Anki 2 and now it works perfectly.

I have the very same problem.

The source files of the main window are in the ankiemperor/views directory and the paths of the images are constructed in the ankiemperor/util.py file. The constructed paths are correct.
I've looked at the source code but unfortunately I have very little python and no Qt knowledge so I have no idea what the problem is.

Hmm... maybe the empire should be limited to Japan this time.

I think keeping the cities in Japan would give the game a more authentic feel. That being said, I've noticed that New York City is even one of the choices in the added cities section.

I don't see your problems with other countries like thailand, except that it's maybe the wrong place here to post this wish. This name of the game isn't JapanEmperor but AnkiEmperor and Anki is a tool to learn foreign languages, even the origin of the word comes from japan.

I found the file too. The directory is correct but some of the images are not showing up. :/ I remember I even altered some of the lines like putting an apostrophe but nothing changed.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. Let's just say that Japan's neighbors probably feel a bit safer these days, at least from Japan, since the emperor and his army decided to stay home.

Here you are. Just copy it into the addons folder.

If the main AnkiEmperor window is hidden the popup about the extra gold is empty when shown.

Most of the time after undoing a reviewed card it is placed somewhere among the pile of due cards and not shown instantly. This never happens without AnkiEmperor so I have uninstalled the plugin for the time being.

I just finished installing and encountered a bug. The pictures of the buildings don't appear when I construct them. At least, the picture doesn't appear for the first building, the cat shrine. I haven't tried building anything else yet, so I might be jumping the gun, but just thought I should let you know.

I can't reproduce this problem. Are you using the latest release? What OS are you using?
