AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Zgarbas - 2012-03-20 The progress was really quick. I'm already at 20% progress, and that's after disabling it for my non-japanese decks. Too slow progress would be a turn-off for less crazy users though. perhaps a difficulty setting? e.g. someone obsessive as me would go hardcore, someone more casual would go easy. After say 100 reviews I'd get as many as that person would get after 10. Or would that be too complicated? AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Fadeway - 2012-03-20 I'd only care about the progress speed if it were really slow, which it isn't, you could increase/decrease it and I wouldn't mind. As long as it's slow and steady it's a motivator. I do 200-300 reviews a day. AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Proxx - 2012-03-21 Hi, thanks for your feedback here in the thread as well as via mail. The progress is quite fast for people with > 100 cards / day. I'll consider the suggestions to slow it down for the high performers ![]() Reviewed Wrote:Could you please try downloading the lastest version of AniWarrior? Are you taking about AnkiWarrior overtaking AnkiEmperor? That's what I meant. (It's not a big deal at all, of course.) Another question: Do you generally have enough gold to start a new construction right after the last one or do you have to wait some cards to earn more gold? I suppose it's rather the first one. AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Clasu - 2012-03-21 Would it be possible to make Anki open AnkiEmperor (if it's hidden) whenever a construction finishes ? I don't want to keep it visible all the time because it's disturbing, but I also want to start new construction asap, so this would reduce the hassle. I find it unlikely you've memorized the whole language!Actually, I still use the RtK website for my kanji reviews . My Anki deck is mainly for vocab/sentences. But as you've written, I've barely scratched the surface of the language. So I definitely need to start adding new cards again.

I suppose it's rather the first one. You're correct. I usually have more gold than most buildings can take, even as I'm buying cities as soon as possible to decrease my money pool (and then not using them at all). I still have some of the highest money-to-turns buildings (i.e. cheapest) untouched, because I always jump for the most expensive options. Proxx Wrote:Another question: Do you generally have enough gold to start a new construction right after the last one or do you have to wait some cards to earn more gold? I suppose it's rather the first one.Without building in any particular order, I've had to wait for gold only once so far (I had spent some money on unlocking a city), every other time it's given me plenty of choices in what to build. AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Proxx - 2012-03-22 Thanks for your feedback, that's what I thought. Guess I'll adjust at least the money awarding algorithm a little bit in a future release.. Clasu Wrote:Would it be possible to make Anki open AnkiEmperor (if it's hidden) whenever a construction finishes ?Should be possible, I'll try to include it in the next release! AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Fadeway - 2012-03-23 There also seems to be a consistent lag between achieving a title and its congratulation message popping up. I don't know if this is intended or not, but I almost always (probably always, but I'm not constantly looking) see the new titles below my name, and only a few flashcards later does the message pop up. EDIT: Additionally, ran in gold trouble for the first time. Think choosing the cheapest building available got me out of it, for now. Perhaps you can remove some of the gold income inconsistency by making the "failed card" award smaller (from 4 to 2) and increasing the "correct" award (6 to 8)? At this point, getting every card correct without any mistakes brings only 60% of the gold one would get by mistaking each card once and then guessing it once (quite likely to happen, since some cards get failed more than once in a single day), which looks like a big difference. The "reward" for mistaking a card is a great idea, it keeps me motivated to keep it up even on desks where I mistake 75% of the cards, but it seems way too close to the value of a correct answer, as opposed to being a more marginal consolation prize. AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - jonuhey - 2012-03-25 Awesome plugin ^^ Been using it for a few days and found a small bug. Even though I completely all 5 constructions in fukuoka, including the Canal City Hakata, now its saying that I have 4/5 of constructions completed there. But if I open it to construct another thing theres nothing there to build. In the Japan Progress screen I only have 80% of the constructions done in fukuoka as well missing only the Canal city. Not sure what happened, just posting so that you know about it. Thanks for doing this. Very interesting and fun to use ^^ AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Proxx - 2012-03-25 Fadeway Wrote:There also seems to be a consistent lag between achieving a title and its congratulation message popping up.If there would be two events at once, they are scheduled to be in to consecutive rounds instead. This somethines happens when you complete a construction and and the same time reach a new rank. Additionally, there a two things which can trigger a new rank: Gold earned and constructions completed. The gold earned influences the adjective (poor, lazy, rich,...) while constructions completed influence the noun (Slave, King, ...). Can you tell me for which one you think the message is popping up too late? Fadeway Wrote:Perhaps you can remove some of the gold income inconsistency by making the "failed card" award smaller (from 4 to 2) and increasing the "correct" award (6 to 8)?That's a good remark, I'll adjust this (although a little differently) for the next release! jonuhey Wrote:Even though I completely all 5 constructions in fukuoka, including the Canal City Hakata, now its saying that I have 4/5 of constructions completed there. Thanks for the feedback! Could you please tell me if it is still incorrectly displayed after you have restarted anki? If so, would you please send me the ankiemperor.db file from the anki plugin folder / ankiemperor subfolder to [ankiemperor at hallojapan.de]? Then I can analyze if futher, because I am not able to reconstruct the problem... AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Fadeway - 2012-03-26 Just finished a big 300-turn building (I don't know if the title is influenced by building count or total turns taken between all buildings, but if it's the latter, with so many turns, it was an inevitable rank-up ), and sure enough, I saw the new title. Next answer, I got the congratulation.I can assume (safely I think) that this will happen always when the noun titles are awarded. Since they are given at building completion, which is an event, it automatically delays any title award, which can actually only occur at that time. It also explains why I always noticed it - I always look at the Emperor panel when I'm done with a building to queue a new one
AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - jonuhey - 2012-03-26 Email with ankiemperor.db sent. Hope its useful for you to find out what happened. AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - WeTsTICK - 2012-03-28 Looks like some sad individual hacked the leaderboard. Man, I sure wish I was cool enough to do that. Man, I sure wish I was cool enough to do that. Thanks for the info. I removed the entries. That's the problem with the scoreboard, it is not difficult to manipulate. And even if it is not manipulated, you cannot really compare two individuals as they use Anki in different ways. Anyways, I had added the scoreboard just for fun, so don't take it seriously. AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - WeTsTICK - 2012-03-28 No worries. My post prob sounded as if I was really bugged by this, my bad. If anything I was just left scratching my head as to why someone would waste their time doing something so pointless. Anywho, cards to review .
AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Proxx - 2012-03-31 Hi, I have created a Website to add new cities (for now only in Japan) and constructions: http://ankiemperor.hallojapan.de/viewCities.php If you have favourite spots in Japan which you would like to see in AnkiEmperor, please add them using the website! They will be included in an update release of AnkiEmperor, which means more constructions to build for everybody
AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Zgarbas - 2012-03-31 So, how exactly can I get copyright for the pictures? AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - HonyakuJoshua - 2012-03-31 Zgarbas - what deck(s) are you using to get such a ridiculously high score? Why would you want copyright? AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Fadeway - 2012-03-31 I assume he wants to know how to obtain it to upload pics on Proxx's site. Ideally, you'd be taking the pictures yourself. Alternatively, Wikipedia provides info on the copyright of its pictures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags), and though I haven't read the linked page, doing so would probably let you know which of their images can be used. AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Zgarbas - 2012-03-31 Ah, the place I wanted to add doesn't have wiki pictures =(. Would just sending a mail to the bloggers and asking for permission to use their picture do? AnkiEmperor doesn't care about decks, but about reviews. I do about 1000-1500 per day. AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Proxx - 2012-03-31 Hi, Fadeway is right, basically I though of pictures you have taken by your own. Although the chance is very small, I wanted to avoid any issues by using copyrighted pictures in AnkiEmperor. But yes, if the person who took the photo agrees that it is used in AnkiEmperor, that should be fine as well
AnkiEmperor - Build your own empire (aka AnkiWarrior 2.0) - Zgarbas - 2012-03-31 OK, I'll send them a mail and ask . Should I leave the place where I have the pictures from in the description on the site so you'll know in case anyone asks?
