any vocab lists for learning along the way? - yukigasuki - 2012-01-27

I would love to study vocab along the way based on kanji already learned up to a certain point.... at least vocab that occurs with some frequency. Has anyone created and organized a list of single and multi kanji vocab that is sorted acording to heisig lesson?

Thx

Grab this splendid list, sort it however you wish, then make an anki deck out of it. Although it might take a little while to set up.

There are also a few decks floating around that follow RTK but use Japanese words that (try to) closely reflect the English keyword, such at this one.

Be aware that some people advise not mixing RTK with actual Japanese, since all sorts of confusion can arise (mainly because earlier characters are re-used later on, where their original English meanings remain useful for mnemonics). You probably also don't want English and Japanese meanings competing for the same character at the same time, so you might want to suspend the English equivalent, which, again, could harm your progress in the later stages. Try it and see what happens, I suppose.
