Company's Own Website - jettyke - 2012-01-24 What is the advantage of making/having your own website of your small business? What advantages does it give you over not having a website? Company's Own Website - blackbrich - 2012-01-24 It can(depending on how decent the site looks) make your business look less like a scam. Company's Own Website - ファブリス - 2012-01-24 Depends what kind of business. Are your customers likely to search for your, or a similar kind of service online? If you're a freelancer it's probably a good idea to have a presence on the web. If you have a grocery store it's probably a waste of time/money. For the latter you should probably make sure you're listed in "white page/golden page" sites. If you're a freelancer your site is an extension of your business card. Then you can put the url on the card. If potential clients can lookup your work online without having to spend 1 hour on the phone I suppose that can remove friction and augment your chances of getting a contract. It may also remove the friction if they can easily throw an email inquiry instead of picking up the phone. But of course if your service is anything visual related, your site is a direct representation of your skill, you don't want to give a bad impression... (ps: I don't mean go bonkers with the design, but have something clean and professional looking... a minimalistic blog theme with a good photo/logo can go a long way) If I had a freelance business right now I'd use on online host like WordPress.com or squarespace or similar. There's really no reason to go to the trouble of hosting it yourself unless you're already very experienced with php/mysql and have the time to spare. Company's Own Website - temporary - 2012-01-25 If you like Squarespace, take a look at Orbs, too. I found it even easier to use. http://orbs.com/ Company's Own Website - onafarm - 2012-01-26 ファブリス Wrote:If I had a freelance business right now I'd use on online host like WordPress.com or squarespace or similar. Company's Own Website - ファブリス - 2012-01-26 Whoah whoah I just noticed this "Pages" link on the sidebar of Google+. Anyone played with that? I'm a bit wary of messing with my default Google+ page, so I'll check some articles about it. I'm not sure they are like WordPress static pages, seems like a blog system (have zero experience with Facebook ).
