how do you download a news mp3 file from Fnn-news.com ? - animehunter123 - 2011-12-20
Hi guys,
I study practice reading and listening to fnn-news.com for listening, but I wanted to download the mp3 to listen to the cast in a loop; rather then letting it stream repeatedly in my browser. Anyone know how to do this specifically for fnn-news?

For mac, there's a program called WireTap Pro which you can use to record any sound your computer is currently playing and save it as an mp3 file (or input from a microphone). Just hit the record button and it will record the audio from youtube videos, games, itunes, vlc or whatever. I used to use that all the time to record the audio from youtube videos and then loop those over and over again on my ipod.

The orbit tool was tricky at first but i figured out how to use it in case anyone wants to know:
1. Install Orbit Downloader (from the http://www.orbit site, freeware)
2. Install the plugin for IE and Firefox
2.5. Make sure orbit and grab++ are loaded and on.
3. Open up the FNN News article in IE (this is best for me?). Play the video once, then right click on the white area in the same page and download via orbit (if it shows a file like: sp2012010311_hd_xxx.wmv (wmv file!) then this is the high qualiry version of the video. (I prefer fnn news primarily because the high quality news people have really easy to hear voices)

People wanting to use closed-source software, like Orbit Downloader, should do their homework before running "free" applications on their machines. Here are two posts that indicate that Orbit Downloader is not without issues.
