Elementary Japanese by Yoko Hasegawa - dwsmith - 2011-12-20 I've been using this text for self study. I'm half way through Volume 2. I've been using flashcardexchange to review the Kanji introduced in each lesson. I recently discovered this site and really like Heisig's systematic approach to learning the Kanji So now I'm using both flashcardexchange to learn the readings of the text book's Kanji and this site to learn the writing. I'm not mixing them up, but studying them separately. Is anyone else using a similar approach? Doug Elementary Japanese by Yoko Hasegawa - prink - 2011-12-20 You should consider using an SRS flashcard program, such as Anki (http://ankisrs.net/), but the approach you described is essentially what I began doing. After learning the most necessary and basic kanji, I've moved onto doing RTK in full. Elementary Japanese by Yoko Hasegawa - dwsmith - 2011-12-20 Thanks for the reply. Flashcard Exchange does utilize SRS. They have a huge data base of flashcards that included the text I'm studying. Too bad I can't access it with my Blackberry. It would be also be nice to be able to access this site with a smart phone. One day maybe. Doug |
