Kotoba! app gone? - jishera - 2012-08-01 Over in another thread (http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=4133&page=2), Mochi443 pointed out that the Kotoba! iPhone app seems to have disappeared. Anyone know what happened to it? Any recommendations for a good free dictionary app? Kotoba! app gone? - Mochi443 - 2012-08-01 Im not sure but theres an app under the name of "Japanese" in the appstore that seems to do the same thing. Its not free, its $9.99. But I know that Kotoba! was free, so i wish i knew what exactly happened to that app. Sad face. Kotoba! app gone? - kitakitsune - 2012-08-01 The professional dictionaries are good investments. I think you can get Genius for $45.
Kotoba! app gone? - mpericks - 2012-08-01 Midori works well for me: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/midori-japanese-dictionary/id385231773?mt=8 Kotoba! app gone? - athrun - 2012-08-06 It seems it got pulled due to trademark issues. The developer is planning to re-publish the app under a new name: "Imiwa"/意味は See: https://www.facebook.com/imiwaapp?ref=stream Kotoba! app gone? - partner55083777 - 2012-08-06 I recommend an Epwing reader plus Epwing dictionaries. There are a lot of good epwing dictionaries that can be downloaded for free (although not all legally...). Once you get the epwing dictionary files, you can use them on basically any modern device (windows, mac, linux, iphone, android phone, etc). Kotoba! app gone? - turvy - 2012-08-06 Midori. Kotoba! app gone? - dtcamero - 2012-08-06 Kotoba is the shizzle. I recommend finding another way to get it or it's replacement when that comes out. It's super thorough, has great stroke animations, and when you look up a word it gives you entries for the kanji involved, using heisig keywords for their meanings. You also get the heisig number within the entry. Kotoba! app gone? - jishera - 2012-08-06 Thanks athrun! Says the new app, called "Imiwa" should be out mid-August hopefully. I'll update my free materials list with the new information. And thanks everyone else for their recommendations :-). Kotoba! app gone? - Jaxiu - 2012-08-06 I've got the ipa file, and I can post the link if it's not against the rules of this forum. I love this application simply because it's actually better than any paid apps I've tried... Kotoba! app gone? - Jaxiu - 2012-08-08 Just found another way. In the AppStore under Updates/Purchased you should be able to find Kotoba! if you previously installed it on your device. I saw imiwa will be available soon but it's not realy clear on the author website. I prefer start with the old one first then try imiwa if it is available in the futur. Kotoba! app gone? - RawrPk - 2012-08-26 I'm updating my Kotoba! app and now it's called "Imiwa?". For those who didn't have Kotoba!, here is a link to the developer page (and where you can download via iTunes) http://imiwa.pierrephi.net/ EDIT: I'm digging the verb conjugation!
