Over in another thread (http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=4133&page=2), Mochi443 pointed out that the Kotoba! iPhone app seems to have disappeared. Anyone know what happened to it? Any recommendations for a good free dictionary app?

Im not sure but theres an app under the name of "Japanese" in the appstore that seems to do the same thing. Its not free, its $9.99.
But I know that Kotoba! was free, so i wish i knew what exactly happened to that app. Sad face.

The professional dictionaries are good investments. I think you can get Genius for $45.

I recommend an Epwing reader plus Epwing dictionaries. There are a lot of good epwing dictionaries that can be downloaded for free (although not all legally...).
Once you get the epwing dictionary files, you can use them on basically any modern device (windows, mac, linux, iphone, android phone, etc).

The iphone/ipad has built-in jap-jap and jap-eng dictionaries now. Just highlight a japanese word and click on "Define".

Kotoba is the shizzle. I recommend finding another way to get it or it's replacement when that comes out. It's super thorough, has great stroke animations, and when you look up a word it gives you entries for the kanji involved, using heisig keywords for their meanings. You also get the heisig number within the entry.

Just found another way. In the AppStore under Updates/Purchased you should be able to find Kotoba! if you previously installed it on your device. (I am using the newest iOS)

Hi everybody, I'm interesting about the ipa file of Kotoba. I saw imiwa will be available soon but it's not realy clear on the author website. I prefer start with the old one first then try imiwa if it is available in the futur.
